Follow-up messages need context

A close or stop-loss update should be matched to the correct earlier signal before any account action is attempted.

Common update types

Signal updates can include close now, cancel pending order, move SL to breakeven, change stop loss, or manage take-profit levels.

Visibility matters

Users should be able to review whether a follow-up was accepted, skipped, or could not be matched to an active trade.

Identify the intended trade

A follow-up such as a stop change or close instruction needs an identifiable original signal and a supported target. Reply context and message relationships matter. Do not assume an update applies to every open position with the same symbol.

Distinguish close, cancel and stop changes

Closing an open position differs from cancelling an unfilled pending order or modifying a stop. Check the current order state and broker response after the supported action. An unmatched update is not evidence that unrelated orders were changed.
